Description

Water shapes our being and the face of the earth in rivers, lakes, seas and oceans.

Water is a material capable of change - this applies not only to its states of aggregation, but also to its ability to shape and its influence on the earth's surface.

The Canadian photo artist Edward Burtynsky loves the creative power of water and captures it in impressive photographs. One of Canada's most respected photographers, he is represented in the collections of over 60 major museums worldwide. His photographs have won numerous awards. Very apt is his quote at the beginning of this photo book "Water": "I realised that we are really dependent on water as opposed to oil. Without water we die".

Burtynsky follows river courses and explores seas; his impressive aerial photographs show places where the balance of the elements is in danger due to human intervention.

Here in our shop we have for you one of the few German book publications by the artist, a rarity and a small masterpiece.

Bettina Leidl wrote the foreword about the magnificent landscape photographs, a description and classification of the work follows by Enrica Vigano.

Be inspired by the works of art created by water or its use in global industrial landscapes.
